Junk removal services in Aventura
Aventura is mostly condos, so most jobs here start inside a unit. Each service below works in a tower or a house.
How Miami-Dade County's bulky waste pickup works in Aventura
Aventura does not run its own bulk collection, and we found no bulk trash page on the city's website. Miami-Dade County collects for the Aventura homes it serves: two bulky waste pickups a calendar year, up to 25 cubic yards each, booked by appointment. City code counts multi-story condominiums as multifamily buildings, and those towers use private haulers, so the county pickup does not reach most Aventura homes.
All of Aventura's bulk pickup rules
| Who collects | Miami-Dade County for the homes it serves; condo towers use private haulers |
|---|---|
| Who it covers | Multi-story condominiums count as multifamily, so the county's bulky pickup does not reach most Aventura homes |
| How often | Two bulky-waste pickups a year, by appointment |
| How much | Up to 25 cubic yards each; nothing over 150 lb |
| Over the limit | Extra pickups are billed by the cubic yard |
| What it won't take | Electronics and TVs, tires, microwaves, central AC units, oil-based paint, rock and dirt |
| Mattresses | Mattresses must be fully sealed in a plastic mattress bag |
| When to put it out | No more than 3 days before the appointment, by 7 a.m. |

Why Aventura residents hire a junk hauler
The usual reasons people in Aventura hire a private hauler instead of the county:
You live in a tower
The county's bulky pickup does not reach multi-story condominiums, so furniture from a unit needs someone to carry it down.
Both pickups are used
A house on county service gets two a calendar year. After that, the next free one waits until January.
It weighs over 150 lb
The county will not collect any single item heavier than that, such as some sleeper sofas and solid-wood armoires.
It is on the refused list
Electronics and TVs, microwaves, tires, central AC units and oil-based paint are all refused at the curb.
The mattress is not bagged
The county takes a mattress only when it is sealed in a plastic mattress bag. See mattress removal.
It cannot wait
Appointments open 30 days ahead, with no waitlist. A unit that must be empty by a closing date needs a booked hauler.
Condo junk removal in Aventura's high-rises
Most people in Aventura live in condominium towers, and each association sets its own rules for anyone carrying things through the building. The rules one Aventura complex publishes show what to expect: a move form 48 hours ahead, one service elevator per building reserved through the security gate, no furniture through the lobby, and work only on weekdays from 9 to 4:30. Contractors must show general liability coverage and workers' compensation or an exemption.
We ask for your building's rules when you book, line up the elevator time and bring enough people for the floor. A unit being sold, or cleared after an owner has passed, is covered under estate cleanout. Condo junk removal shows how a high-rise pickup runs.
Miami-Dade trash centers near Aventura, and who can use them
Aventura residents may use Miami-Dade's Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers, open every day from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The two nearest are Golden Glades, at 140 NW 160th Street, which also takes electronics and motor oil, and Norwood, at 19901 NW 7th Avenue, which does not take white goods such as refrigerators and washers.
Tower residents should check one thing first. The centers serve only residential customers who pay the county's waste fee, and staff match a scanned Florida driver's license or ID to an eligible address. If your building uses a private hauler, your address may not qualify, so call 311 or read the county's trash center page before you drive over.
